Thank you for leaving your comment. We need to be vocal about these problems or companies like Dassels will continue to treat their customers like this. Dassels Petroleum needs to learn that their customers are their business and if they won't treat them right their customers will put them out of business.

I too have had problems with Dassel. They come every three weeks in the winter & charge over 300.00 at a time. They don't tell show how much was in the tank, it starts at 0 everytime. I find that decieving. I called to work it out but got no where. Later the owner said I could make payments. They still try to come every three weeks but I catch them & stop them. Last time I needed it they put me off for 4 days, so we had none. The guy on the phone told me, "well it's not our fault your late" Like I did it on purpose. Now I paid over half of it last month & they are harrassing me. I would switch but I didn't have the tank installed, my landlord did. I find them to be very unprofessional and heartless, I owe less than 170 bucks & they are harrassing me. I've NEVER used propane this fast. I used to have it last 3 to 5 months, now apparently 3 weeks in the winter & 3 months in the summer. If I ever need propane again, it will NOT be with Dassel

I'm currently buying a house that has an existing dassles tank. After reading their holier-than-thou response to you there's no way I would do business with them, Thank you for putting up this site. -Jim

Alas, this seems to be the norm with many companies today.

It used to be that it was all about customer service (remember Service Stations? Now they're just Gas Stations).

Most smaller family based companies provide better, and more complete, service than the larger companies do. Unfortunately, in the case of Dassel's Petroleum this appears to not be the case.

Dassel's does a decent job pumping gas but if you want "service" you're going to have to look elsewhere.

Man that really bites

You'd think that since they own the tank and regulator they would have an obligation to make sure they were working and to test them if there were any question.

Amerigas, who isn't known for great customer service, will even come out and test for leaks.

Thanks for the warning!

Originally posted September 30th, 2008 on www.lompicocc.org

The reply to Mr. Duane Davis was published in this forum without my knowledge or permission. However, I am sure there is a legal precedence for posting emails to the public. But, I do not dispute any part of my response to your gloating and desperate bashing of the company I have proudly worked for for 15 years. I deal with the public every single day. The current and ongoing economic crisis has caused many to be less patient, stressed, combative, and downright mean. I deal with unhappy, frightened, angry people on a daily basis. People who, under ordinary economic circumstances are cooperative and happy to work out a solution to whatever the issue. Yet, I love my job and I love the people, even you Mr. Davis, that I deal with every day. I empathize with their distress and understand why some feel it is acceptable to vent. I listen to their story without judgement. Most, we can help. Some are going to feel we failed them regardless of what we do. I am not speaking for the company; I am speaking from my home, from my heart. There are many times, after spending a full day hearing the sad stories of so many people who have fallen on hard times, I go home depressed and exhausted. However, I go to work the next day ready to try my hardest to help, within the parameters the company allows, those who have asked that we be patient and try to work out a plan. Most know that the circumstances they are in are hardly our fault. And I honestly try to do everything I am allowed to extend a helping hand to our dear, valuable customers. I take great exception to, and take personal, the ongoing onslaught by Mr. Davis. Particularly since he decided to take me "public". I don't know that I deserved this, but it is what it is. I know I have assisted, as has the entire staff - it IS what we do - many, many of our wonderful customers through difficult times. And regardless of how often I am accused of failing, I will continue to do my very best for my customers. It is what I have been taught to do by Dassel's. I truly hope, Mr. Davis, your circumstances improve for you and your family. I will try to turn this experience into a positive one to help me through my career and life. I will remember you when I speak to others who have also fallen on hard times.
